Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 3, 2026
We want The Visible Hand to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Text and chart colours are checked for contrast in both the light and dark themes. The site follows your device’s light or dark setting, and you can switch it.
- Each unit bar has a text description of its contents, so the chart information is available to screen readers.
- Each school page also gives its program information in a summary table with proper headings.
- Pages reflow for small screens and zoom, and motion is reduced when your device asks for it.
Known limitations
- Wide comparison tables scroll sideways on small screens.
- The side-by-side comparer and the compare page need JavaScript. The summary table on each school page carries the same information without it.
Feedback
If something on the site is hard to use, please tell us what page you were on and what happened: thevisiblehand.ca@gmail.com (email us). We aim to reply within 10 business days and, where we can, to fix the problem or give you the information in another format.
